Plains ISD is beginning the referral process for Gifted and Talented (G/T) services for the 2026-2027 school year. Anyone wishing to refer a student attending Plains ISD in Kindergarten through 11th grade can fill out the attached referral form. This form must be returned to the school by February 25, 2026. Completed forms should be submitted to the classroom teacher, your child’s campus office, or to Ms. Ashley Conde.

Sophomore class will be selling pickle pops to elementary students on Monday during lunch. $2.00 a pop 😃

Last regular invitational of the season!!! These kids did an AWESOME job!!! Iris is becoming a fantastic speaker based on the speaking points she is accumaliting in LD, Libby placed 2nd in two consecutive rounds to reach the finals and she placed 5th in DI!!! In CX, Taylor and Matias after a competitive 2-1, they broke to semifinals, made it to the finals, and won the meet!!!


This kids absolutely rocked today in the CX State-qualifying Meet!!! Taylor and Matias remained undefeated, becoming District Champions. Emmie and Merideth were runner-ups, and Colter and Grant placed 3rd!! Combined, they brought the 2A District Championship home!!!! Matias, Taylor, Emmie, and Merideth will all compete in Austin for the State Meet!!!

Congratulations to our Plains ISD Band Students who participated in ATSSB A-AA All-Region Band Concert!

Plains High School is excited to announce the January Students of the Month, Taylor Rains and Israel Contreras.
Taylor is the senior daughter of Beau and LaChrisa Rains. Her hobbies are reading and spending time with friends. Taylor is very involved in extracurricular activities, including One Act Play, band, colorguard, FFA, and UIL speech and debate and mathematics. Taylor is also an officer for Student Council and a member of National Honor Society. One of Taylor's teachers said that "she is an outstanding example of leadership, grit, and positivity. Taylor manages her busy schedule with grace and determination. She is smart, witty, and has a genuine personality that can brighten anyone’s day. Taylor plays a major role in our FFA program, where she excels in her leadership role. Her commitment, character, and enthusiasm make her truly deserving of this recognition." Taylor's future goal is to pursue a JD/MD degree and become a psychiatrist and advocate for policy changes in the judicial system.
Izzy is the junior son of Victoria Valverde and Daniel Contreras. He enjoys studying politics, history, and firearms. He is involved in UIL Social Studies and Current Events, and he plans to play baseball this year. Izzy's future plan is to join the US Army and later become a law enforcement officer. One of Izzy's teachers said "Izzy is a hardworking, highly intelligent student who always produces work that exceeds my expectations. I am excited to see how he impacts the future."
