Plains High School is happy to announce the March Students of the Month, Kenny Beck and Kasen Barrera. Kenny is the senior son of Kenneth Beck. He is a collector who enjoys playing guitar, drawing, art, photography, and fishing. He plans to attend South Plains College in the fall. One of Kenny's teachers said that he "has really tapped into his artistic abilities and found his unique style. He not only works hard in class, but he's utilizing his talents beyond the classroom. I enjoy our visits as he shares his latest creations." Kasen is the freshman son of Hector and Helen Barrera. His hobby is playing video games, and he runs track and cross country. His future goal is to become a welder. One of Kasen's teachers said "Kasen consistently goes above and beyond in everything he does. He comes to class prepared, stays engaged, and puts genuine effort into his work every single day. What really stands out, though, is his attitude—he is respectful, positive, and always willing to help others. Kasen doesn't just focus on his own success, but he also contributes to a strong, supportive classroom environment!" We are proud of these students and their accomplishments!

For the second year in a row, Chloa Bearden has qualified for the Regional Tournament with a round of 98, finishing as the 3rd place medalist overall in the district! Also, her first time breaking 100! Everyone competed really well while we had several other personal bests achieved today! Super proud of everyone!

The Math and Calculator teams competed at the STATE TMSCA Meet in San Antonio, going head-to-head with the best teams in Texas—and they delivered incredible performances! Braylon Ward has been named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All Region and All State teams. Congrats Braylon!

Very proud of these kids!!! They competed in CX State. Merideth and Emmie ended with a record of 2-2, and 113 speaking points, only 2 points away from finals!!! Taylor and Matias ended with a record of 4-0 and advanced to finals, where they placed 5th overall!!!

5th place medalist!!!! Aileen increased 50 lbs from her regional total to take home some hardware!!!! We are so proud of her!!  Way to represent Plains ISD!!!!

The high school math team placed 1st in the state at the virtual challenge meet! The calculator team placed 2nd, social studies 2nd, copy editing placed 3rd,literary criticism 10th, current issues 5th, number sense 12th, and science 15th.Everyone placed individually!
