Reminder: Physicals for all UIL extracurricular activities for incoming 7 - 12 students will be tomorrow, Tuesday May 16 & Wednesday May 17 at the arena starting at 2 pm. Coaches have handed out packets and are also available at the front desk. Parents must sign all required documents.

Plains ISD would like to congratulate Sophia Elena Madrid! Sophia Elena Madrid is our 8th grade Valedictorian for the 2022-2023 school year. Great job! #plainsproud Sofia Elena Madrid is the younger of two daughters of Steven and Jai Madrid. Sofia attended Parson’s Elementary in Lubbock from Kindergarten-5th grade, and then she transferred to Plains, where she completed grades 6th-8th. Sofia enjoys playing volleyball, tennis, bass guitar, and piano. She also enjoys drawing and painting, reading historical fiction, and playing video games. Sofia played volleyball and tennis and ran track in both 7th and 8th grades and competed in several UIL competitions. In volleyball, her team was back-to-back District Champions, and she placed 2nd at the tennis District meet in the girls' singles division this spring. Sofia is looking forward to attending Plains High School next year and playing high school sports!
