Yesterday, we were privileged to welcome Retired Sergeant First Class Mark Gonzales as our guest speaker at Plains ISD. His inspiring message about service, leadership, and dedication to our country reminded us of the values that make our community and nation strong. We are grateful for his years of service and for taking the time to share his story and wisdom with our students,staff and community. The fourth meet of the year for the Speech and Debate team was great!!! We had first time DI contestant Libby compete and make her first NSDA points!!! CX team Bunch-McKenzie advanced and placed in quarterfinals!!! In Congress, everyone made finals! Jacob did great, Merideth and Matias gave a multiple perfectly-ranked speeches and we have an undefeated third time champ Taylor who placed 1st!!!! Thank you guys your commitment!!!

Public Hearing Regarding Plains Elementary's Academic Rating.
This hearing is to notify the public of the insufficient performance of the campus and the planned interventions to improve student performance. The Board will entertain public comment regarding the targeted improvement plan.
Meeting will be Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Plains ISD Multi- Purpose Room @ 5:30 p.m.

Don't forget tonight is SENIOR NIGHT!! We will announce our SENIOR XC, BAND, CHEER, and FOOTBALL at 6:15pm!! Then after the game our SENIORS will walk the field once last time!!

Today we had a full chamber in UIL Regionals and after two sessions, the entire Plains team placed in the top 10!!!! Iris placed 10th, Merideth placed 8th, and STATE Bound is Emmie in 4th, Matias in 2nd and Taylor in 1st!!!! Congratulations!!! These kids will compete again in January at Austin!!!

Don't forget this Friday is Senior Night!! We will start at 6:15 as we announce our Seniors that are involved in Cheer, Band, XC, and Football. After the game we will start at the east end of the football field. Parents and Seniors will walk to the 50 yard line and then the Seniors will walk the final 50 yards on their own.

Thank you PLAINS PTO for providing pickles and popcorn to our 7th and 8th grade TOP MINDPLAY achievers!!

Our Cowboy Band members will be selling glow sticks and other items starting tomorrow and on Friday!! Please help support our band!!
