Today seniors from throughout the region, including our very own Plains HS seniors, attended a conference at ESC Region 17! The speaker, Aric Bostick, is a renowned education and corporate speaker. The seniors worked on leadership skills, relationship skills, and the power of living life “Fired Up”! Thank you Plains counselor team for organizing this trip! #plainsproud

I wanted to share the following email with you. A local superintendent sent it to me just yesterday. It speaks volumes for the character of our kids, their parents and our staff. I was in Lubbock all day Saturday for my daughter's basketball games and I decided to meet my son for dinner. We decided on eating at Wingstop. When we got there, there were only two people in the store, but after we ordered, a busload of Plains students showed up. They were athletes on their way home from the Regional track meet. The students were excited and talking about the track meet, but the most significant thing I noticed was how they treated each other, the employees, and also me as a fellow patron of the restaurant. They all displayed courtesy and respect, and they were also engaged with the cashier as he was excited to serve so many people. I noticed 2 coaches with them, but not once did they have to get on to any of them. They were cleaning up after themselves, they were not all on their phones, and they ALL displayed respect. Amazingly, when my son and I got up to leave, they told us to "Have a good night". Needless to say, I was extremely impressed with your Plains students. They represented you and your district with integrity and honor. #plainsproud
