The Plains Junior High Cheerleaders competed hard today for their last day of camp. They walked away with the Herkie Team Award, a Spirit Stick, and a blue ‘Superior’ ribbon for their cheer performance.
Kaylee Lopez was an All-American Nominee, and Elida Perez was able to “Pin it Forward” to a cheerleader who also showed leadership and great spirit. She chose a cheerleader from Slaton to share this award with. #plainsproud


Plains Junior High Cheerleaders won a Spirit Stick today at cheer camp. They also were awarded an ‘Excellent’ ribbon for their Chant and a ‘Superior’ ribbon for their Band Chant. Elida Perez was awarded the ‘Pay It Forward’ pin for showing great leadership, spirit, kindness, commitment, and motivation at camp.
Tomorrow they will compete in three different competitions including Chant, Band Chant, and Cheer. Let’s Go Wrangler Cheerleaders!


Congratulation to Coach Jonathan Lira for being recognized at the 2024 THSCA Hall of Honor ceremony at the THSCA Coaching Convention for winning his 2nd consecutive State Champion.

Returning students need to come on August 2nd from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in cafeteria. *Students will only receive schedules when online registration & paperwork are completed. *All students who ride a bus must fill out a new bus form for this school year. *Parents must have a valid email address to register their students.

Bio:
I have spent the last 28 years in Education. I have taught Science, Physical Education and have coached football, basketball, and golf. My wife Laura has been teaching at Plains ISD for 21 years and my children Jordan, Leigha, and Allie grew up in this community. I am looking forward to being a part of the Plains ISD school family. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my granddaughter Madilynn, along with my family, and golfing and traveling.
