Plains ISD is excited to announce the February Students of the Month, Paola Gallegos and Joseph Espiritu. Paola is the senior daughter of Joel and Miriam Gallegos. She is a member of the math and calculator UIL teams, and she is in the National Honor Society. Paola serves as the historian for the Student Council and volunteers at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was on the volleyball team, runs track, and has been manager for the basketball teams. Her future plans are to attend Texas Tech and become a pediatric nurse. One of Paola's teachers said that Paola "consistently demonstrates dedication to her high school and college work and strives for excellence in all she does. Her work ethic and perseverance set a high standard for her peers. Also, she is a model of respect and kindness." Joseph Espiritu is the senior son of Xochitl Garcia. He is a member of the Cowboy Band and Student Council, and he served as the football manager this season. Joseph enjoys working on his cars, hanging out with friends and family, and listening to music. He also like traveling on long distance trips on his own and exploring big cities and landmarks. Joseph's future plans are to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering or computer science, which will lead to a career as an automotive engineer. One of Joseph's teachers said that "he is a respectful student who is always courteous and polite. He is dependable and tries his best in all that he does. I have enjoyed Joseph as a student in and out of the classroom." Plains High School is proud of these students and their accomplishments! #plainsproud
