Mandatory Parent Meeting on 8/2

                                                                                                                        July 22, 2010

Dear Cowboy,

The school year is drawing near!  The coaches are anxiously awaiting the start of pre-season practices on August 2nd for football and Cross country.  It is also time for you to take care of a few important details so that we are able to hit the ground running.  I am writing this to you to remind you of a few important dates so that you, and or your parents are able to set your schedules.

Please be aware of the following important dates:

August 2nd            -Start of pre-season football practices.  Your attendance is greatly encouraged.  In order for us to be able to obtain the goals we have set for ourselves, we must be prepared.   High School Football players report to the field house for equipment and practice at 7:30am.  We will be off the field by noon.  Junior high players will not report until school begins.  All paperwork, including physicals will be due on August 2nd.

-Parent meeting.  Mr. Michaleson’s mandatory parent meeting will be held in the PISD auditorium, at 7:00pm.  All PISD athletes, grades 7-12, must be represented at this meeting.  A make up viewing of the video can be arranged for those unable to attend, through the office of the superintendent, principal or athletic director.  Participation in competition will be denied until a parent or guardian has attended.

August 3rd            -Start of pre-season Cross country practice.  Participants should report to the park at 7:00pm.

August 16th            -“Meet the Cowboys/Cowgirls” , 6:00pm at the football field.

August 23rd            -Beginning of classes at Plains ISD.

I hope you are doing everything in your power to make 2010-11 a special year!  I know that you, as well as we as coaches, have plans for an unforgettable year together in athletics.

Sincerely,

Tom Harvey
