Success at the Middle School TMSCA State Competition
April 20, 2012
For the past three years, Plains Middle School TMSCA students have qualified to compete at the state meet in San Antonio, and this year is no exception. Congratulations are in order to 6th Grader Trase Burns for his successful performance at the TMSCA State meet on Saturday, April 13. Trase placed 8th in the final standings of the Science competition against a field of 15 state qualifiers. Students from 18 1-A schools throughout all of the regions of Texas participated at this highest level of competition by qualifying either as a member of a team or as an individual at various qualifying meets throughout the competitive season. The Science competition covers such topics as plants, chemistry, body systems, geology, and the solar system.
To qualify to attend the competition, Trase placed 2nd at the qualifying meet held in Plains on March 10. Trase was coached by Middle School Science teacher, Kelly Baum. Congratulations, Trase and Mrs. Baum, on your success.
