2010-2011 Accountability Ratings Released
The Texas Education Agency released its ratings of over 1,200 school districts and 8,500 campuses, and while the District rating placed Plains ISD in the top 5% of districts statewide, they were not as good as what has come to be expected. The Middle School led the way with an "Exemplary" rating, while the High School barely missed that same mark because of the addition of a commended score indicator and was rated "Recognized". The Elementary School was rated "Academically Acceptable" and was tantalizingly close to earning the "Recognized" rating.
As the State transitions from the TAKS test to STAAR, these ratings will stay with the District and Campuses for next year as well. You can see the full TEA press release at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/news_release.aspx?id=2147501866.
