Cowboys and Cowgirls Advance to Regional Competition

As the track season draws to a close, athletes from all over the state of Texas have entered District and Area competitions striving to advance to the next competitive level. The top four places in each event from District meets held earlier in April advanced to Area competition; and, again, the top four places in each event at Area meets have now advanced to the Regional level. Cowboys and Cowgirls who will be representing Plains High School at the Regional meet and will be vying for the honor of competing at the State track meet are these: Stephanie Addison, Jaxon Bean, Josh Brock, Omar Calderon, Jose Corrales, Dray DeBusk, Lupe Lara, Jonathon Lira, Jordan Martin, and Roberto Reyna. Despite driving winds and rain showers on Friday, April 16, Plains athletes competed in their Area Meet against athletes that had advanced from the following schools in Districts 3 and 4: Anton, Crosbyton, Morton, New Deal, Plains, Ralls, Seagraves, Smyer, Sundown, Tahoka, Whiteface, Ackerly Sands, Gail Borden, Ira, Lamesa Klondike, Lenorah Grady, Loop, New Home, O'Donnell, Southland, Welch Dawson, Wellman-Union, and Wilson. Results of the meet are shown below in events in which Plains had athletes competing. |
