Plains Academic Team Does well in Idalou meet

Nine students from Plains High School travelled to Idalou to compete in Academics at a meet with 35 schools attending. Christian Valdez competed alone in a 2 hour programming contest outscoring 7 other teams of three programmers to post the top score. Troy Alldredge was 2nd in Number Sense and 1st in Mathematics in the sophomore division. Autumn Friesen not only placed 1st in the freshman division, but posted the top score over 120 other contestants including upper classmen in calculator. Attending the meet were Adriana Corrales, Griffin Young, Vanessa Cueto, Austin Taylor, Mayra Cueto who place 6th in calculator and 5th in Mathematics, and Saul Fierro. The math/science team will compete in Levelland next weekend.
