Cowboys Win Season Opener 40-7

The Plains Cowboys started the 2009 season on a good note by defeating Wink 40-7. The stiff Cowboys defense allowed only 178 total yards while having 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown. Jacob Brink and Arthur Ruiz each had one interception and Jeffery Barrientes pick up a fumble and returned it 24 yards for a touchdown. The Cowboys offense finished the game with 273 total yards of offense. The first touchdown was from Brandon Craft, scoring on a 42 yard run. Jaaron Bell was on the receiving end of a 15 yard touchdown pass. Arthur Ruiz scored on a 1 yard run that ended a 15 play drive starting the second half. Jeffery Barrientes and Dray DeBusk both scored on a 4 yard run in the 4th quarter. The Cowboys look to continue their winning ways this Friday when they take on the Farwell Steers in Plains at 7:30.
